Just a word from God
We had a not so long discussion/talk with our Pastors. They admonished us to get married before Femi travels to France. We agreed and decided to get married.
Let me back up a little. You remember what God told me while I was having my quiet time? He said that He would change my status and now we are getting married. It all starts with a word from God. Whatever it is you want to do or go into, be sure to hear God on it before doing/ going into it. The moment God gives you His word, everything begins to work to see to it that the word is fulfilled.
Why? John 6:63. “…The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are life”.
The word of God is powerful enough to do whatever He say He will do.
Secondly, Numbers 23:19. “God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfil?”
God’s word is true
Whatever God says, He alone is able to perform what He has said. Does that imply that there won’t be challenges even when God has spoken? No! There might be challenges, but having heard and believed God’s word, you have to stand on it and keep declaring it until you see a physical manifestation of the word that you believed.
There are somethings God will say to you and you will see the physical manifestation really quick, but there are some that you will not see the physical manifestation immediately. As I have said, it begins with God’s word. Hear God’s word about that decision you’re about to make. The business deal you are about to make, the course you want to take, the trip you want to make etc. HEAR GOD! Let Him direct you.
It all starts with one decision, and that decision can change the trajectory of your life forever. It may sound so easy but trust me, the destination you will arrive at when you go with decision A is definitely different from the destination you will arrive at when you go with decision B. I learnt this from my spiritual mum. Where we are now is a destination, a result of the decision(s) we took in the past. I admonish you to choose to hear God and do what He says to do about that situation.
Planning our wedding
So, I called my parents to inform them of our plan of getting married before Femi travels and they were happy. We started planning actively, our planning took a step higher. It went from planning our parents’ official meeting to planning our wedding. Because God has done a quick work, we had to change our plans to align with God’s.
Do you remember that our Parents’ official meeting was slated for Saturday? It became their official meeting and our traditional wedding. So, we had both events on the same day. Prior to this time, I remember one of my silent desire as a teenager about my wedding was not to have a ceremonially 😁, loud wedding. I just didn’t like the noise, the paparazzi and all. I had always wanted a quiet wedding, with not many people in attendance. It turns out that I am going to have what I desired, what I dreamt of.
Proverbs 23:7. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” In other words, your life goes in the same direction that your thoughts go. What you think in your heart, will find its way into your life, so think the right thought. I have never been a fan of bridal train so I didn’t have one.
My status changed fast
Life was happening fast. Things were moving pretty fast, my life, not just my status was changing pretty soon. I was still with my Pastor, my mentor and their children, and I was planning my wedding at the same time. Naturally, it wasn’t easy. But I am happy that I did it, I am happy that I enrolled for the “course”-I called it “The act of multi-tasking”. Because, as a wife and mother, I have come to know that if I want to be productive, I have to multi-task.
When it was time, I travelled home for our parent’s official meeting cum traditional wedding. Before I forget to tell you this; I got the type of wedding dress I had always wanted-a mermaid wedding dress for free. I didn’t pay a dime. Yes you heard me right. Oh my God! I was so happy. My shape was just perfect for a mermaid wedding gown to fit into it. And I got a lovely wedding shoe as a gift from my chief bride’s maid Vanessa. So, I traveled home and we did the traditional wedding and we fixed a date for the church wedding.
Let me do a little explanation here. God gave me that word of changing my status on Wednesday morning, we did our traditional wedding on Saturday, of the same week, we fixed the church wedding for Thursday, the week after the traditional wedding. So literarily, within nine days, my status changed from being single to been married. God is AWESOME! He is faithful! God loves you. He is still in the business of doing MIRACLES, if only you BELIEVE. The LOVE OF GOD IS REAL.
God is real, believe in Him
If you have been following this story from the beginning, you will know that only God could have done this (and others too). I am not playing down the place of hard work, planning and trying to get things done all by yourself. Much more than these is the God factor, much more than this is GOD. Hard work is good, and it pays, but do you know that God can take you to a place in days, that a lifetime of hard work might not take you?
“For it is neither by power nor might but by my Spirit says the Lord”. “It is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, it is God that shows mercy”. God plus planning and hard work gives you much more than the desired result because God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you ask or think according to the power that is at work in Him.
This is the message: BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVE IN HIS LOVE, BELIEVE IN HIS GRACE because He is the Lord, the Lord God, merciful, gracious, long suffering, abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin…Exodus 34:6.
Accept His love, He loves you. “For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. You want to respond to His love? Say this prayer: “Lord I thank you for your love. I believe you sent your son to die for my sins and you raised Him on the third day, I ask that you come into my heart and be my Lord. Amen.
